RT4: Journal Article

My journal article Long-term macrolide maintenance therapy in non-CF bronchiectasis: Evidence and questionsis a systematic review published in 2014. It discusses the benefits of macrolides as a long term therapy for patients with non-CF bronchiectasis. I wrote one of my H&Ps on a patient with bronchiectasis and she was given no antibiotics and so I figured I’d research if antibiotics would be warranted or beneficial.  Macrolides are known to have anti-inflammatory properties and antibacterial activity and so they can play a key role in reducing exacerbation frequency, reduce sputum volume and improve lung function in patients with non-CF bronchiectasis when taken for a period of 6 months to a year.
