RT5: Site Visit Evaluation

My site visit was with Sajid Mohamad who also taught pathophysiology and emergency medicine my during didactic year. I was with another classmate who was also on her ambulatory care rotation and therefore I got to learn a lot about the similarities/differences between our rotations. Since Prof. Sajid Mohamad is also an ER PA, it was very fitting that he’d be the one to go over our H&Ps. He provided great input as to diagnostic modalities and management in urgent care vs emergency room. He brought up a few points about management in my H&Ps such as to sling or not to sling a patient with possible rotator cuff. Although in the practice I was rotating at decided to put the patient in a sling, I researched that keeping a patient with rotator cuff in a sling for too long may in fact cause delayed healing and lead to frozen shoulder. I learned a lot from my site visit and got great feedback in order to improve moving forward.
