The article I chose Tools for assessing fall risk in the elderly: a systematic review and meta-analysis is of the highest level of evidence published in 2017. It assesses tools that best predict the risk of falls in the elderly. This is an important topic as falls occur more frequently and associated with more damaging effects in the elderly population. Falls are the second leading cause of injury related deaths among the elderly worldwide. Twenty-six tools were retrieved from selected articles and the author concludes that two assessment tools rather than one offers a better predictive value of the risk of falls in the elderly.
